A traditional gastro pub to the leafy suburbs of Dronfield Woodhouse on the edge of the Derbyshire Countryside. The pub has been newly refurbished with help from local companies including Dronfield Upholstery, Lowes and Balfour Carpets.
The establishment was originally a local brewery flagship pub when built in the 1930’s was refurbished to a high standard in 2009 and boasts a magnificent solid mahogany bar and oak panelling and has three separate and distinct areas. The ‘Oak Bar’ has a pool table, darts, pub snacks and a traditional feel. The ‘Pub and Dining Room’ has a modern and bright, yet cosy atmosphere. The conservatory has a light airy feel for summer drinks, teas, a selection of coffees and soft drinks making it an ideal family area.
Boasting a chic new interior which blends traditional and contemporary, The Hearty Oak is the perfect place to enjoy a casual lunch, boozy dinner, or your favourite tipple.
Being free of tie means we can offer a wide selection of drinks and you’ll find cask ales from the local Abbeydale Brewery, along with an extensive wine list and with the Oak Room, Bar/Dining area and Conservatory Room available it is three pubs in one!
In all the pub has nine hand pulls for cask ales and although initially starting with local beers it is hoped that eventually all 9 will be used for a selection of local and guest ales. In time events such as a farmers markets and beer festivals are planned as the pub has a large car park.
The Hearty Oak offers everything from lunchtime bar meals and three-course evening dinners,gourmet pizza to early evening specials and Sunday lunches. Food is served from 12 to 9pm everyday.
The Hearty Oaks commitment to satisfying hungry appetites with good quality, professionally-prepared local ingredients has meant the appointment of Shaun White as head chef, pioneering a menu of British fayre with a few surprises here and there.
Serving local ingredients such as meat sourced from the neighbouring Border View Farm means we can guarantee field to fork freshness, quality and seasonality with the dishes put on the menu and it also helps us do our bit for local produces in the area.
